Deambulatory:
A covered place in which to walk.
Niche:
A cavity, hollow, or recess, generally within the thickness of a wall, for a statue, bust, or other erect ornament.
Ambulatory:
A semicircular or polygonal aisle. Often an ambulatory leads around the east end of the choir; separating the choir from apses or chapels.
Apse:
A projecting part of a building, esp. of a church, having in the plan a polygonal or semicircular termination, and, most often, projecting from the east end. In early churches the Eastern apse was occupied by seats for the bishop and clergy.
Gallery:
(or ''Tribune'') An upper story over the aisle which opens onto the nave or choir. It corresponds in length and width to the dimensions of the aisle below it.
Pagan:
One who worships false gods; an idolater; a heathen; one who is neither a Christian, a Mohammedan, nor a Jew.
